Completely in Japanese but worth a watch.
On August 24th the Ryu Ga Gotoku live event was held allowing press and fans to come and listen to a talk about the new game and HD rereleases of Yakuza 1 & 2!
4Gamer.net was there and has a few photos of the event.
Apparently a preview trailer for Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 was shown at the event but everyone that was there is under embargo not to speak about it until it’s officially released. :-(
Play-Asia is already accepting preorders for Ryu Ga Gotoku HD edition.
It’s only $60 US so it’s actually quite cheap as far as Japanese games go which usually retail for about $80 US so it really fits in line with other HD releases on the system. However it doesn’t mention if it comes with the preorder bonuses we’ve seen previously.
If you’re a Japanese speaker now’s the time.

On top of that Pre-orderers also get a special edition white hard box featuring the artwork from both games and 2 limited edition PS2 boxart style covers for your game.
Word is that the Clear Data save files after you’ve beaten the game will be the original box art form each.

Which means this game is in full 1080p meanwhile Yakuza 5 (and all modern Yakuza games to bring the frame rate up) seems to only be in 720p.

This weeks Famitsu has released a small preview image from the “first look at Ryu Ga Gotoku HD Collection” the full magazine will be releasing later today.
Sega schedule leaks Yakuza 1 & 2 HD!
According to the Sega release schedule it briefly listed Yakuza 1 and 2 HD collection for release December 1st in Japan for ¥5,229! No word on an English collection but fingers crossed it happens!
The title was quickly pulled from the list but you can see it on a cached version of the site here. (If it’s not removed yet)
