SEGA revealed this morning that all versions of Yakuza: Like a Dragon will have receive a free upgrade to the PS5 version! This includes both digital and physical versions that will require a version specific download after moving to the new platform. To top it off all previously scheduled versions are now releasing November 10th (PS4, Steam, Xbox One) this includes the Steam version so make sure you get your copy a few days ahead of schedule! The PS5 version is coming March 2, 2021

No word yet if save files will be transferrable between versions or if we’ll need to restart on next gen. We’ve reached out to SEGA for clarification.

EDIT: This is Physical AND Digital. The press release below does not include that fact.

EDIT 2: This rumor seems to have been floating around from a now deleted tweet. So far only Digital versions have been announced for the free upgrade. Sorry for the confusion.

Edit 3: Looks like physical versions ARE getting a PS5 upgrade for free!
