I’ve played most Yakuza PS3 games (3 – 5, Kenzan and Ishin), but not the first 2. Is it worth it to revisit HD collection? Is it too dated by today’s standard (such as: unfair fights, poor framerates, high random encounter rate, not enough side activities)?

If you can read Japanese then it’s totally worth grabbing the HD collection. Yakuza 1 is a little rough but Yakuza 2 is amazing and still holds up. The only thing that’s a HUGE pain in the ass in those games is the missable substories and heat actions.
