Like a Dragon Ishin!

We got another look at the Like a Dragon Ishin! Kiwami version which has been completely remade in Unreal Engine and now features actors/character cameos from games that came out after Ishin’s initial release. They’ve really made this version an all star cast of Ryu ga Gotoku character from the series history. They brought 3 actors from Yakuza 0 that are going to be guest appearing in Ishin! Riki Takeuchi playing Takeda Kanryusai, Hitoshi Ozawa as Ito Kashitaro, and Hideo Nakeno as Takechi Hanpeita took to the stage to talk about their time recording and who they’ll be playing in Ishin Kiwami!

Like a Dragon Ishin! will be released world wide February, 21 2023.

Like a Dragon 8 (Ryu ga Gotoku 8)

We got to see a small teaser trailer for the next mainline entry in the Yakuza series with some familiar faces. Kiryu and Ichiban are back as dual protagonists of Ryu Ga Gotoku 8 (Like a Dragon 2) and will be returning to the RPG style of the previous mainline entry.

While they couldn’t say much they did mention that the theme of this game will be “a man that carries the past on his back, and a man who carries the future on his back. Each being represented by Kiryu and Ichiban”.

The voice actors for both Kiryu (Takaya Kuroda) and Ichiban (Kazuhiro Nakaya) came to the stage to discuss what it was like returning to the series and thanked the fans.

Like a Dragon 8 will be released in 2024.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Out of nowhere we got a 3rd announcement for an in between fgame coming out next year. Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name will show exactly what Kiryu has been doing since the end of yakuza 6 and promises to tie the story of Like a Dragon 8 and Kiryu together. This is a gaiden game or side story so while it’s canon to the main pliot it’s meant for hardcore fans that want to know what happened to Kiryu during the missing years.

This one will be returning to the action brawler style the series is known for and will be about half as long as a mainline Yakuza title but just as dense. Think the rough size of the Kaito files DLC just a a bit bigger.

Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name will be released in 2023.
