Yakuza 6 cancelled days before launch in Korea!
Just days before the launch of yakuza 6 Playstation Korea has posted a short message on the official blog announcing that the game has been cancelled “due to the nature of the content”. Given that the Korean mafia are a part of Yakuza 6’s story it’s likely the reason for the games unexpected cancellation especially this close to release.

Those that preordered Yakuza 6 from the PSN can play it right now as midnight just hit Tokyo and people start picking up their copies remember; no spoilers!

From today’s Ryu Ga gotoku 6 launch event with the cast. Not a lot was discussed or revealed. Nagoshi is proud of his game, the cast is happy they worked so hard on it. The usual stuff. Then they broke open some sake and took some photos.
I’m still shocked at the amazing AAA cast the team managed to put together this time around.

Revisited: Japanese release to western announcement
Some of you may recall a few years ago I went through and listed all of the Yakuza games with their Japanese release dates to see how long a localization announcement usually takes from SEGA America. Now that we’re just a few days from the launch of Yakuza 6, Kiryu’s final game, and a day after the announcement of both Kiwami and Yakuza 6 coming west. I thought it would be fun to have a new look at the turnaround time for our favorite series.
Again these are comparisons for the announcement date in the west to the day they were released in Japan. It’s amazing to see how far SEGA has come with yakuza 6 setting a new record with -5 days!
Thanks to all the fans that have kept the flames burning for this series as long as you have. This is your pay off.
