A few weeks ago SEGA asked fans to submit clips from Yakuza in English they would like to be showcased on their YouTube channel. This week they finally went live with some English lessons and comparison of yakuza’s western localization compared to the Japanese version.
The host MC Taka goes through scenes and explains the differences when it comes to the localization text compared to the Japanese; breaking down phrases and idioms that don’t really reach across the borders. Very interesting stuff and a great way to show off how the international team is making the Yakuza series work for the west.
