Sega and RGG Studio have just announced that Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 will be receiving enhanced upgrades on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam Dec. 8th 2025!
Upgrade Costs:
All 3 titles will require a small fee to access the upgraded versions if you previously own each game digitally. Unfortunately each those that own the games physically (or got it on subscription services like PS+ or Game Pass) will not be eligible for the upgrade and instead will need to purchase the enhanced versions separately. With no news of physical versions of the upgraded editions it seems like they will only be available digitally, at least for now.
- Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut: $14.99 (USD) (rrp $49.99 (USD))
- Yakuza Kiwami $1.99 (USD) (rrp $19.99 (USD))
- Yakuza Kiwami 2 FREE!
What happens to the old versions of these titles?
Yakuza 0 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam will no longer be purchasable from December 8th meaning these enhanced editions will be the only way to get these going forward. While there have been some mixed reactions to the extra content added to Yakuza 0 the enhanced editions off a pretty significant upgrade to the original versions which we’ll outline the changes below.
Those who purchase the original version of Yakuza 0 by 08:29 am PST on December 8th will still be able to play the original version and those with physical copies can continue to play it regardless of the digital cutoff date.
What are the differences in editions?
All enhanced editions will run at 60FPS aside from the Switch 2 version which is locked at 30FPS according to SEGA’s Japanese FAQ.
