You guys know we don’t hold a lot in famitsu’s scoring system but it’s always interesting to see what they gave the game. Thanks to Play-Asia they’ve got the fully translated reviews right from the magazine! Looks like it’s got a close to perfect score which is fitting for Kiryu’s final game.

Yoshida (10):
As this is the final chapter of the legendary story surrounding “Kiryu Kazuma” we see a lot of Kiryu’s previous endeavours all wrap up perfectly.
The characters voiced by Miyasako and Kitano Takeshi’s existence in this universe is perfectly created and not just merely thrown in for fan service. Both Kamurocho & the newly added city, from Hiroshima, Onomichi are completely different and have several specific enjoyable spots.
Compared to previous games in the series, the transition between walking around the map and battles are seamless which make it easy to enter the fight without having to wait for minor hiccups when loading in-between the two. I have to say that this is the magnum opus of the Yakuza series!
Asada (10):
The story of the game is very well done, you’ll never know what will be coming around the corner and you will NEVER be able to keep your eyes off for a second. The game retains the depth of the previous games in the series, but also does the best way of filling in certain previously unanswered questions too. The transition between adventuring across the map into battle is so seamless and jaw dropping. The game is as close to perfect as it can be.
Namuko (9):
I was constantly surprised by every continuation of the story and you really have to stick your eyes to the screen to keep up with the epic tale. There are a lot of people you will make and break bonds within the final part of Yakuza’s amazing story with a lot of famous actors who do a great job making their characters feel like an important part of the story. The ability to do battle within shops is something I never thought I would see, but it is done extremely well.
The seriousness of the story mixed with side missions that add some hilarity into the mix is done very very well! Kamurocho looks even better and Onomichi is so interesting to venture through.
BunBunMaru (10):
Even though you only play as Kiryu and use a single battle style; the battles still feel fresh and exciting. The story can be enjoyed and interpreted by each player, but it is still an amazing site to see. Within each available city you will meet a brand new amazing cast and you will gain some new exciting friends along Kiryu’s adventure. Speaking of the story, it’s extremely enjoyable and it felt like I was watching a drama series as everything unfolded.
I just wish there was a lot more added to the “Clan Creator”.
