Today is the anniversary of Yakuza 5’s release in Japan I thought I’d give a quick update to those fans still hoping to see Yakuza 5 in the west (like all of us here).
While we still have no official word from Sega regarding a western release we’re still hopeful, Ryu ga Gotoku 5 sold 590,000 copies in Japan as of May 2013 (before dropping of the Media Create charts) and received perfect scores from almost all japanese reviewers and was popular enough to get a Playstation 3 The Best version which releases today!
Operation Rainfall ran an amazing poll for which game LAI would help get localized with Yakuza fans coming out in droves securing over 9,300 votes!
On our own Like/Share campaign we have over 600 more shares and only less than 2000 likes than the official Sega run Hatsune Miku campaign!
That is a HUGE number of people that want to see Yakuza 5 in the west! Yes we’re just fans but imagine the turn out if Sega would get behind this!
We’ve also got the petition over on Change.org hitting over 2,170 and the newly launched segalization.com promising to help promote all Sega game localization!
Make sure you like the image on Facebook and share to your friends!
Let @Sega know what we want!
